Anand offers a free 30 minute consultation via online or phone.
All is welcome and Anand will meet you where you are at, in this moment of your journey. Together you can pause and discuss what concerns you might want to address, answer any questions about art therapy, or see if you resonate with Anand’s approach to therapy. Anand cherishes the value of the therapeutic relationship. He believes it has a sacred place in co-creating a safe and non-judgemental space where collaboratively, the experience and wisdom of your creativity is explored.
Art Therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy. It's a process that facilitates self exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour and shape as part of the creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would be difficult to articulate (Canadian Art Therapy Association, 2022).
Creativity is an important aspect of the self. When we tap into our creative wisdom we enter a fertile space that goes beyond our cognitive brain.
Art Therapy has been shown to be effective in working through trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and more.
Art Therapy can involve creative prompts to explore a problem you have been facing, understanding boundaries and more.
Therapy sessions can be Art Therapy focused, or sometimes during the course of therapy, we can have a creative session to further explore and process some of things we have been working on.
Art Therapy is not about art making and there is no requirement for art making skills. The focus tends to be mainly on the process and space we create after for reflection.
